Frequently asked questions

What is the 80-IAC tax holiday?

Eligible startups can claim a 100% deduction on profits for any 3 consecutive years out of their first 10. It now sits in Section 140 of the Income-tax Act, 2025, which replaced 80-IAC from 1 April 2026. Only companies and LLPs incorporated before 1 April 2030 qualify, turnover must stay within Rs 100 crore in the year of claim, and separate Inter-Ministerial Board certification is needed.

Is DPIIT recognition the same as the tax holiday?

No. Recognition is the first step and is granted by DPIIT. The tax holiday needs a separate application and approval.

Is there a government fee?

No. DPIIT does not charge a fee for recognition.

Fees shown are AdvisoNet professional fees exclusive of GST and government charges. Content is general information, not legal advice; applicability depends on facts and current law.
