Frequently asked questions
Is registration with the Registrar of Firms mandatory?
Not under the central Act, though some states have made it compulsory. A registered firm has much stronger legal standing, so we recommend it.
Can a firm get PAN without registration?
Yes. A firm with a stamped and notarised deed can get PAN and open a bank account. Registration with the Registrar of Firms is a separate step.
How many partners are allowed?
At least two and up to 50 under the Companies Act limits for associations carrying on business.
