Frequently asked questions
Are appointment letters mandatory now?
Yes. Under the Labour Codes in force from 21 November 2025, employers must issue an appointment letter to every employee, with prescribed particulars.
Are non-compete clauses enforceable?
Post-employment non-compete clauses are generally not enforceable in India. We draft confidentiality and non-solicitation clauses that hold up better.
Do fixed-term employees get gratuity?
Under the Code on Social Security, fixed-term employees become eligible for gratuity after one year of continuous service. We reflect this in the contract.
