Frequently asked questions

What are the due dates?

TDS returns are generally due by 31 July, 31 October, 31 January and 31 May for the four quarters. TCS returns are due on the 15th of the month after each quarter.

Have the forms changed under the new Act?

Yes. From tax year 2026-27, under the Income-tax Act, 2025 and the Income-tax Rules, 2026, the quarterly statements are renumbered: 24Q is Form 138, 26Q is Form 140, 27Q is Form 144 and 27EQ is Form 143. Earlier quarters keep the old forms.

We received a TRACES default notice. Can you fix it?
